Who would settle for just one Angie when you can have two? We’re growing—and I couldn’t be more excited to share the news!

When I got a text from Angie Ross saying she wanted to join us at Effective Effort with Elizabeth, I immediately smiled. Even though I’ve known Angie R. for the shortest amount of time of all our teachers, she’s one of those people who instantly feels like a lifelong friend the moment you meet her.

Four years ago, Angie moved to town and began working with me as an intervention specialist. From day one, she was exactly what our school needed—a breath of fresh air. She brought innovative ideas, positive energy, and an incredible ability to build meaningful relationships with students.

Coming from a smaller district, Angie admitted she wasn’t quite sure what to expect when she joined a large urban school system. But it didn’t take long for her to realize something important: students and families are more alike than different, no matter where you go. And, as always, she found a way to connect.

Originally, Angie planned to stay for just a year or two—but she ended up staying longer, making a lasting impact along the way. While she may have been ready to step away from the public school system, she wasn’t ready to step away from teaching.

Just two months after retiring, she reached out about joining our team—and I could hardly contain my excitement.

Angie is the kind of teacher every student deserves. She’s fun, passionate, and brings high expectations balanced with genuine care. She knows how to encourage students, challenge them, and support them—without ever pushing too hard. Most importantly, she connects. She meets students where they are and helps them grow.

Please join me in giving a warm welcome to Angie R.—we are so lucky to have her.
